PranaRehab Professional Rehabilitation Program - PPRP
The goal of the PranaRehab project is to have well trained teachers who have become proficient through their own personal practice as well as applying their own knowledge to patients in their care. It requires considerable commitment because although there are immediate benefits, the enduring benefits and deeper knowledge come with daily practice over a minimum of three months. Having said that the exercises might take less than an hour to perform and one can tailor ones own practice to suit the focus.
Each of the courses we run is a step to increasing your knowledge and understanding of natural holistic healing which is the body and mind returning to their balanced and natural state through supporting the healing process. As a health practitioner you will find the self practice helpful in your own case since the exercises increase overall immunity through improving digestion, respiration, circulation, nervous system activity, lowering stress and associated symptoms. Through this you will gain real knowledge that you can confidently apply to your patients treatment plan.

Energetics & Presence
Consistent with Ayurveda in which each of the Doshas is governed by a combination of earth, water, fire, air and space elements, each has physical qualities which can be affected by the manual therapist. This is particularly relevant when there are psychological concerns such as the various expressions of PTSD, depression, anxiety, hyperactivity etc. This part of the training will teach the therapist how to work with the energies to calm, stimulate, align and adjust the patient's physical and mental states through the power of being fully present.
Yoga Therapy
Yoga is commonly and correctly understood to be a way to keep fit, however it is also a way to diagnose and treat patients by understanding the intention of each of the postures and either asking the patient to do them in a particular way or as a therapy for trained practitioners to use to treat both physical and psychological problems. Each of the postures will be taught from a structural anatomical and physiological perspective and as a useful tool to treat patients in rehabilitation
Massage Therapy
The Massage therapy module will teach the therapist to tune into the state of the patient in order to release stresses built up in the body which affect the nervous system and mind. The first thing that is taught is the power of touch and the importance or being in the present moment of awareness. Touch not only registers the patients state - receiver - but also reaches deep inside the patient to the source of the imbalance to correct it - the transmitter.
Marma Therapy
Marma therapy makes use of pressure points akin to acupressure but using a different system based on Ayurvedic principles. The system was described in original works written 2000 years ago and has been found to be beneficial when treating traumatic and general imbalances and injuries. This course will concentrate on the basic theory and location of the 107 marma points focussing specifically on those used to treat PTSD.
Shiro Dhara
This is an ancient and very effective way to treat mental disturbances linked to physical ailments. Warm oil is streamed over the forehead rythmically to produce a deeply calming effect on the nervous system. particularly effective when treating various psychological imbalances like sleeplessness, anxiety, neurological ailments and other psychological conditions.
Nasya and Neti
Nasya and Neti are nasal procedures which introduce oil and salt water into the nasal passage. They originate in the Ayurvedic and Yoga traditions and have been found to be useful when treating both imbalanaces in the respiratory tract and also neurological and psychological conditions.
